Smoltek is awarded a new patent. This new patent has been granted in Taiwan, and is relating to the patent family in the direction of CNF-MIM capacitor applications on interposers. This also brings our patent portfolio to now comprise 72 granted patents.
The patent, recently granted in Taiwan, belongs to a patent family that covers the company’s CNF-MIM capacitors technology and various use cases for the same, primarily in the field of interposers for advanced packaging and heterogenous integration of semiconductors.
The invention as such facilitates integration of extremely thin solid-state devices, such as CNF-MIM capacitors, where the main advantage is that the energy storing devices can be placed closer to the interconnection points and power rails of the active chip, thus enabling more efficient power management solutions for the whole circuit.
Miniaturized or compact energy storage devices, e.g. capacitors, are in high demand in the field of today’s advanced packaging architectures for integrated circuits, for example commonly used for microprocessors and other heterogeneously integrated semiconductors.
Smoltek’s patent protected technology around interposers are built on the need to improve circuit performance by enabling smarter, compact energy storage devices which in turn can enable more efficient power management solutions.
Smoltek’s patent portfolio now globally comprises 72 granted patents. Read more about our IP and patents.
